Nowadays we have so many diets to choose from that we can easily find something that fits our lifestyle without too much trouble. The Pegan diet is a new and many people swear by it. Is it as good as they say?
The Pegan diet is a combination of the Paleo diet and the Vegan way of life. The Paleo regime is based on foods that our ancestors used to eat, starting from meat and ending with vegetables and seeds. Of course, every piece of processed food is completely prohibited. On the other hand, the Vegan diet prohibits the consumption of any kind of food that comes from an animal, including milk, eggs and all dairy products. If we combine these two, we get the Pegan diet.
If you decide to maintain the Pegan diet, you will have to eat only “caveman” foods, except the food that comes from animals. This means that your diet will be based on fruits, vegetables and occasionally grains. Although this might not be very comfortable if you are the kind of person who enjoys a good steak for dinner, it is apparently one of the healthiest diets around.
The advantages: You lose weight in a healthy and natural way in a short time, and you don’t deprive your body of any nutrients. At the same time, you will not feel hungry very often as you are allowed to eat as much as you want, whenever you want, as long as you limit yourself to certain food groups.
